We thank Elena and Massimo Rossetti, current Managing Directors of Samag S.r.l., who answered our questions:

Hi Elena and Massimo, can you tell us about Samag S.r.l.'s growth path in exports and internationalization?

The vision of the founder Pietro Rossetti was from the beginning to expand Samag's presence abroad and not being limited to the domestic market, with the support of structures and organizations such as CEPI.
Since the 1980s, Samag created a network of authorized distributors and workshops by participating to international trade fairs, show rooms and demonstrations, which have led Samag to have more than 50% of its turnover abroad on a permanent basis.
Today we look at the development of the foreign market and the complete internationalization of business processes as a natural companion for technological innovation and the ability to design and build trolleys tailored to the specific needs of companies.

Can you tell us about the relationship with CEPI Piacenza Exporters Consortium?

The partnership with CEPI began many years ago, in 1987, when the company managers were the founders Pietro Rossetti and his wife Loredana Lodigiani. They immediately understood the importance of synergy with the Piacenza Exporters Consortium and signed their association with the then President On. Bianchini.
Certainly, from the 1980s to today, the international promotion tools we have used, also thanks to the support of CEPI, have changed: business missions and trade fair participations now are accompanied digital promotion and web marketing tools and, over the years, the relationship with the Consortium has remained solid with Mr. Cavalli and in future projection with Dr. Buttò.

Please describe the company and its products to us

Samag is a MANUFACTURER operating in the handling machinery industry that has chosen to enrich its production line through the customization of forklifts.
The pride of our company is the ability to design and build highly reliable forklifts (elevators, conveyors, order pickers and stainless steel trolleys), often designed "ad hoc" to solve specific handling problems, up to large capacities.
The technicians of Samag production and design area, thanks to many years of experience, are involved in developing customized work tools: professional and customized forklifts according to the needs expressed by the customer.
45 years of experience, an independent mechanical machining department, management and total control of the work cycle, are, for Samag, the "founding pillars" which allow us to offer cutting-edge solutions at fixed costs, reducing waiting times without affecting the quality and efficiency of the forklifts.

What are the main tools used for promotion abroad and which in collaboration with the CEPI?

Over the years Samag has used various tools in collaboration with CEPI: first of all trade fair participation, but also the support given for B2B meeting days, information seminars on internationalization issues that the consortium organizes and also the possibility of receiving assistance on technical and regulatory issues to find the consultancy figures suitable for our purposes.
Lastly the possibility of collaborating through web marketing has opened up a tool in which Samag believes and which is giving excellent results that give us confidence for the future.

Markets in which it operates and on which it intends to operate

Samag operates for a good half of its turnover on the Italian market and while the other half is for the most (45%) in the European Union, in particular in Germany.
There is a 5% of turnover that goes to non-EU countries and on which we are aiming for the future, even if the European potential is still high and the growth margins are very significant.
Future plans:
Samag has embraced the philosophy of constant research for development, without renouncing sincere relationships with customers, suppliers and collaborators, but above all without forgetting the fundamental principles such as: correctness, responsibility and transparency.
For the next few years it will be necessary to maintain the ability to flexibly adapt to new production processes and the increasingly specific requests of client companies and individual industries, occupying new market segments and satisfying the quality, reliability and performance requirements that, for example, the chemical-pharmaceutical or food sectors impose.
